Filling the Gap!
The most recent addition to our team, dentist Nick Lamb, offers one of the major advances in modern dentistry at the Practice - dental implants.
These can be used to replace single teeth or bridges, or to stabilise dentures. It involves surgically placing a Titanium implant into the jaw bone that at a later date can have a form of crown fixed into it to give the appearance of a natural tooth. The implant systems that we use at Island House are Bicon and IMTEC. Links to both of the companies websites can be found in the Treatment section of our website. Nick’s training in implant dentistry has taken him across the world, attending courses in South Africa and Boston in the United States as well as less glamourous surroundings of London!
The Annual Bicon Conference will be taking place at the Royal College of Surgeons in London in September. Nick will be attending alongside Mark Boyton and will report back after the event.
Since moving to Woodbridge in August 2008, Nick has been made to feel very welcome by both staff and patients. In that time, his son Sebastian has been born and is a happy bouncing 8 month year old! His wife, Rachel, has returned to work at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital following her career in Maxillo-Facial surgery. In the future, we hope that Rachel will offer treatments under Sedation here at Island House.
Facial Rejuvenation
Sarah Weston is pleased to be introducing a new type of treatment at Island House - Facial Rejuvenation.
For those of you unfamiliar with the term, it encompasses treatment to improve your complexion and overall facial appearance. Nowadays, people are increasingly aware of how they look and how they appear to others. Following training in London’s Harley Street, Sarah is offering injectable treatments for wrinkle correction and dermal fillers. These can compliment other forms of cosmetic dentistry such as tooth whitening.
If you feel that facial rejuvenation treatments could be for you, please contact Sarah via her e-mail sarah.weston@islandhousedentalcare.co.uk or alternatively call the Practice on 01394 388008 for more information or to book a consultation.
